My girlfriend ~imold made a painting in oil like this, and the other night I felt the compelling need to paint a rendition of it. Mine isn't very good, but I like some of the effects (like the buildup of paint in the middle of the flower).

This is very different from anything else in your gallery, and I like that about it. I love those strokes in the blue there - I bet you had fun doing those! The stalk of the flower is sort of blurry, and I'm not certain yet if I like that or not. The buildup in the head of the flower is really, great, and I love that golden peachy colour.
